CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The accused suspect in the April 2023 Isle of Palms senior skip-day shooting was sentenced Thursday to more than a decade in prison.
Davion Bobby Del’Shawn Singleton, arrested in August 2023, pleaded guilty to several charges and was sentenced by Judge Deadra Jefferson to 12 years in prison with credit for time served. That will amount to about nine years behind bars for his role in the shooting that rocked a typically quiet beachside town.
When he was arrested, Singleton was charged with five counts of attempted murder, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, one count of unlawful carrying of a firearm, and one count of possession of a stolen vehicle.
