A Yorktown educator was recently named by the Virginia Department of Education as one of 8 regional teachers selected as finalists for Virginia’s 2027 Teacher of the Year.
April Insley, a Yorktown Elementary Library Media Specialist, was selected for Region 2—recognizing her commitment to creating engaging, inclusive learning environments where young learners thrive.
