Kentucky farmers feeling impacts of worsening drought

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — From the start of 2026 until mid-May, Kentucky and Indiana has fallen under severe and extreme drought in some locations.

The amount of rainfall that Louisville International has recorded is nearly 6 inches below the average for this time of year. May is usually the wettest month of the year, followed by March and April in the ranking.
