Community gathers to honor fallen officers in Horry County

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Friday was an emotional day for members of the Horry County community, as they remembered 17 brave men who lost their lives in the line of duty, and whose names they refuse to forget.

In front of the fallen officer memorial in Conway, members of local law enforcement agencies, county officials, and loved ones of fallen officers gathered in remembrance.

The fallen officers honored include:

  • William Bryant Hardee, Loris PD, July 15, 1951
  • Charles Levon McNeill, SCDNR, October 3, 1974
  • Robert D. Sadler, SCDNR, May 19, 1982
  • John Ronald Floyd, HCPD, June 25, 1986
  • Henry O’Dell Stalvey, Jr., HCPD, September 14, 1986
  • Dennis James Lyden, HCPD, June 5, 2000
  • Randy Gene Gerald, HCSO, December 29, 2001
  • Joseph John McGarry, Myrtle Beach PD, December 29 2002
