SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Community members looking to grow their own fruits and vegetables will have the chance to pick up free gardening supplies this week through an event hosted by Ozarks Food Harvest.
The food bank will hold its annual Plant It Forward distribution on Friday, May 15, beginning at 1 p.m., offering free fruit and vegetable plants, seeds and gardening education materials to the public.
The event will take place at Ozarks Food Harvest, 2810 N. Cedarbrook Ave. in Springfield, and will continue while supplies last. Organizers say the giveaway is weather-dependent and an alternate date will be announced if storms impact the event.
