EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A commander with the firefighters battling the blaze at a packaging factory in Ciudad Juarez on Saturday, May 16 , says crews have put out 70 percent of the fire.
Jorge Puentes, a commander with the Heroic Fire Department, says the ceiling of the building collapsed due to the embers from the fire. He also said eight fire units are on scene and another agency was deployed to assist in containing the fire.
“We’re connected to the fire hydrants as there’s a huge demand for water. We’re connected to the water lines as well as we’re utilizing the lines from this location and nearby businesses,” Puentes said…
