Road projects to impact commutes in multiple counties

(KODE/KSNF) — Your route to work may be impacted by a series of road projects getting underway this week.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will be performing pavement sealing work on several roads starting tomorrow. A total of 9 roads will be given the treatment meant to extend the life of the pavement in Barry, Christian, Jasper, Newton and McDonald counties.

  • Carthage Municipal Pool closure leaves summer plans in limbo

Officials say drivers should find alternate routes for their commutes but if you do have to go through work zones, be on the lookout for flaggers and pilot cars, expect traffic to be reduced to one lane, and slow down when going over the newly treated pavement.

They also mention there will be no marked detours and electronic message boards near the work site will update drivers with the schedule for each project…
