COLUMBIA, Pa. — From the surface, the red brick house located along South Second Street looks like any other in Columbia’s historic district. But for local historians, the house is a symbol of freedom.
“This was sort of the epicenter of the Underground Railroad in this town,” Mark Stewart, with the Underground Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, told FOX43.
Recently, the National Park Service recognized the historic Wright House as an Underground Railroad Network to Freedom site.
