2 suspects arrested in connection with Charleston County homicide

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Two McClellanville men have been arrested and charged in connection with a weekend homicide that left a 36-year-old man dead, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Allen Manigault, 38, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and armed robbery. Wesley Howard Gerald, 31, also faces a murder charge in the case.

Deputies responded just after 10 p.m. Saturday to the 8600 block of North Highway 17 following reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Lewis Garrett, 36, of McClellanville, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, authorities said…
