Daddy Yankee To Lead Puerto Rican Pride Takeover Up Fifth Avenue

Daddy Yankee is set to take over Fifth Avenue next summer as grand marshal of the 69th National Puerto Rican Day Parade, organizers announced Tuesday, topping an all-star slate of honorees that also includes actor and singer Anthony Ramos. Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez and jazz musician Charlie Sepúlveda are slated to receive lifetime achievement awards. Nearly one million spectators typically pack the sidewalks along the avenue, and Channel 7 plans to air live coverage of the festivities at 12 p.m. on June 14, according to ABC7 New York.
