SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — A man will serve more than two decades in prison after pleading guilty in connection with a shooting that killed two people in Summerville four years ago.
Dejuan Smith pleaded guilty to two charges of manslaughter, downgraded from the murder charges he initially faced.
The charges stem from a March 2022 shooting outside the Sangaree Library. Witnesses said the incident started after the two victims met with Smith to sell a gun.
When they handed over the gun to Smith, he used it to shoot at 15-year-old Malaki Mazyck and 18-year-old Kenyon Johnson, according to witnesses. Both were struck by gunfire and died at the hospital…
