Remaining Wisner Trust funds secured for City of New Orleans, residents

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A ruling has been made in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, that secured funds for the City of New Orleans.

The New Orleans City Council stated Tuesday, May 19, the court has ruled in its favor surrounding the ongoing litigation involving the Wisner Trust Fund.

In a January ruling, the Civil District Court recognized the City of New Orleans and Mayor Helena Moreno as the sole heirs of land formerly held in the Wisner Trust. An appeal was filed by defendants, but the city claimed victory.
