Updates on several of Hendersonville’s capital projects were presented during the Monday, May 18, meeting of the Capital Projects Committee.
Hendersonville’s Drakes Creek Road and Stop 30 Road Project has a revised cost estimate of around $12 million and its current status is listed as being in the right-of-way/property acquisition phase. Bids are expected to open on the project in the third quarter of 2026 and groundbreaking is expected to take place in the final quarter of the year. The project’s estimated completion is slated for the third quarter of 2028.
“We’re still in the court process for acquisition of the cemetery parcel,” Public Works Director Stephen Winzenread said. “It just has to run its course of notification through the court process before we can take ownership of that property and then we are also working through the Army Corps of Engineers and TDEC permitting processes. We believe we’ve found a good way forward on that to get our permits.”…
