Regional Transit Authority CEO Lona Edwards Hankins submitted a resignation letter on Sunday and signaled that she plans to sue the agency after negotiations with the board over the terms of her departure broke down, according to Hankins’ attorney, Bill Aaron.
Before submitting the letter, Hankins wrote the RTA a nearly $21,000 check to compensate the agency for excess car allowance payments that she had received during her tenure, Aaron said Wednesday.
