POPLAR GROVE — Surf Internet broke ground Wednesday on a fiber infrastructure project designed to expand high-speed internet access and support continued residential and business growth in the region.
The company gathered on Hill Street near village offices with Growth Dimensions Economic Development and officials from the village of Poplar Grove and Boone County Board to mark the start of construction.
“As communities continue to grow, access to reliable high-speed internet is no longer a luxury — it is essential infrastructure,” Scott Franco, director of business development for Surf Internet, said in a news release. “Surf Internet is proud to invest in Poplar Grove and partner with local leaders to expand connectivity that will support residents, businesses, education, and future development opportunities for years to come.”…
