HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The town of Newburgh says it’s working to prevent an accident like the one that happened on Wednesday.
As we reported, a car plunged into the Ohio River along the downtown riverfront. It happened just after 1 p.m. near west Water Street and State Street right next to Marida restaurant.

It prompted a heavy emergency response with several crews called to the scene. Witnesses say the driver went past a stop sign and then over the edge.
