MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Montgomery police are investigating two recent homicides and pushing for bond reform as they report significant drops in violent crime across the city.
Police Chief James Graboys said Tony Julius was killed May 9 on Decatur Street in what investigators believe was a targeted attack. Ariana Grant died May 15 on Simmons Drive in a domestic-related incident where an adult man was also found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Graboys said the department is concerned about violent offenders being released on bond and committing new crimes. He said bond reform and accountability in the criminal justice system are needed to keep repeat offenders off the streets…
