(WPTA) – Attorney General Todd Rokita announced Wednesday that six people face felony charges for allegedly defrauding Indiana’s Medicaid program of more than $10.9 million.
The attorney general’s office says the six people are tied to Senior Home Care Agency, a for-profit provider of waiver services, and are accused of billing for waiver services that were never provided.
The six people charged are:
- 39-year-old Alexander D Byrnes of Indianapolis
- Charge(s): 14 counts of Level 4 Felony Fraud, 35 counts of Level 5 Felony Fraud, and 1 count of Level 6 Felony Fraud
- Loss to Medicaid: ≈ $10.9 million.
- 26-year-old Faith A Casas of Indianapolis
- Charge(s): Aiding, Inducing, or Causing an Offense, 14 counts of Level 4 Felony Fraud, 35 counts of Level 5 Felony Fraud, and 1 count of Level 6 Felony Fraud
- Loss to Medicaid: ≈ $10.9 million.
- 41-year-old Nichole A. Hoyt of Kendallville
- Charge(s): 10 counts of Level 6 Felony Fraud
- Loss to Medicaid: ≈ $223,871.51
- 35-year-old Cortez L. Crook of Fort Wayne
- Charge(s): 3 counts of Level 6 Felony Fraud
- Loss to Medicaid: ≈ $75,540.46
- 40-year-old LaShawn N. Wright of Fort Wayne
- Charge(s): 3 counts of Level 6 Felony Fraud
- Loss to Medicaid: ≈ $75,540.46
- 45-year-old Jessica K. Schoof of Monroeville
- Charge(s): 10 counts of Level 6 Felony Fraud
