Joseph Everett of Decatur, Indiana, has been awarded the Western Golf Association’s Chick Evans Scholarship, a full four-year housing and tuition scholarship for golf caddies, and the nation’s largest privately funded scholarship program. Joseph is a senior at Adams Central High School.
Joseph, who caddies at Orchard Ridge Country Club, earned the scholarship by meeting its four selection criteria: a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character. The full-tuition and housing college scholarship is valued at approximately $125,000 over four years.
An estimated 380 caddies will be awarded the Evans Scholarship in 2026. Currently, a record 1,260 are enrolled at 27 universities nationwide as Evans Scholars, and more than 12,575 caddies have graduated as Evans Scholars since the program was founded in 1930.
