FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A vacant Fresno home sustained heavy damage after a fire broke out on Monday, according to the Fresno Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to several reports of a house fire at the 2100 block of South Poppy Avenue about 1:40 p.m. Firecrews found smoke and flames rising from the back half of the home when they arrived on scene, according to the department.
Officials say the house was a vacant home that was boarded up. The department says these factors made gaining access challenging for the fire crews.
