Grand Rapids prepares for Eastown Streetfair on Saturday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — It is almost time for the Eastown Streetfair, an annual community event held in Grand Rapids’ Eastown neighborhood.

Taking place along Wealthy Street between Giddings Avenue and Lake Drive, the 53rd annual Eastown Streetfair will include more than 100 booths featuring West Michigan artists, community organizations, food vendors and more.

“Streetfair is Eastown at its best: Neighbors and artists and small businesses filling Wealthy Street for the day,” Rachael Wingo, president of the Eastown Community Association, said in a statement.

Eastown Streetfair is a family-friendly event and will include live music throughout the day. Along with outdoor attractions, Eastown Streetfair is bringing back one of its newer additions for another year: a family activity area.

“Now in its third year, the family activity area has become one of my favorite parts of the event and a great reminder that this event is for every generation,” Wingo stated…
