BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Construction is getting underway on medical technology company Shoulder Innovations’ new headquarters in Byron Township.
The company, which designs, manufactures and distributes shoulder replacement devices across the United States, held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday at the site on Venture Hills Boulevard near 64th Street SW and Byron Center Avenue SW.

Shoulder Innovations started in 2009 with one goal: to solve a frequent problem in shoulder replacement.
“What would commonly happen is the component that you would implant into the shoulder blade would come loose,” CEO and Executive Chairman Rob Ball explained. “And so a surgeon by the name of Steve Gunther invented a technology called the InSet Glenoid that allowed the solution to that problem.”
