Charges against man accused of doxing wrong person in GRPD shooting dropped

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Kent County Prosecutor confirmed the case against a Grand Rapids man accused of posting the personal information of a person he believed was involved in an officer-involved shooting has been dismissed.

Michael Buxton had faced charges of unlawful posting of a message and using a computer to commit a crime stemming from a Facebook post falsely identifying a man from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as the GRPD Officer who shot and killed Da’quain Johnson.
