Expect a warm-up this week in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Clear skies and temperatures falling through the 50s for our Sunday evening. We’ll continue to see clear skies overnight and morning temperatures will fall into the low to mid-40s for Monday morning.

High pressure dominates our weather for the first portion of the work week leaving us with mostly sunny skies. Afternoon temperatures reach the mid to upper 70s Monday afternoon. Our temperatures continue to warm up into Tuesday and winds will gradually increase as well. Morning lows on Tuesday in the low 50s with afternoon highs reaching the low 80s. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Although the burn ban has been lifted for 81 counties in NC, it remains in effect for the majority of the Piedmont Triad. The ONLY counties in the FOX8 viewing area that saw the burn ban lifted were Alleghany, Wilkes, Surry, Yadkin and Caswell counties. Either way, fire danger will be a concern on Monday and Tuesday as winds will be breezy and humidity will be low, around 20%-30%…
