Man to spend over a decade in prison after fatal shooting of bystander in Winston-Salem during argument

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man was sentenced in Forsyth County after a fatal shooting four years ago, according to Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill.

On April 27, Rayshaun Antonio Crowder, 25, pled guilty in Forsyth County Superior Court to second-degree murder for the homicide of Shaunte Rhyne Jr., 22.

Crowder also pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was sentenced to 207-261 months (17 years and three months-21 years and nine months) in prison.
