(NEXSTAR) — The CEO of Chipotle is once again encouraging you to “ask for a little more” if you feel like you’re being skimped on your bowl.
Chipotle, well-known for its bowls, burritos, and chips and guacamole, has for years been criticized for declining or inconsistent portion sizes.
In 2024, a Wells Fargo analyst and his team purchased more than six dozen Chipotle bowls across eight different New York City locations, finding inconsistencies in portion sizes across the board. When reached for comment by Nexstar about the findings, a Chipotle spokesperson attributed the variations to “our completely customizable meals.”

“There have been no changes in our portion sizes, and we aim to provide a great guest experience every time,” Laurie Schalow, the chief corporate affairs officer for Chipotle, said at the time.
Weeks later, then-CEO Brian Niccol said during a call with investors that the chain would “re-coach” restaurants on the proper portion sizes. Niccol, now the CEO of Starbucks, also suggested that customers simply give their server a look — which he demonstrated — if they want “a little more rice” or “a little more pico.”…
