York County coroner rules death ‘natural’ after man was Tased, strapped in restraint chair in jail

The York County coroner’s office on Monday released the cause and manner of death for a man who died while incarcerated three years ago after jail guards used repeated force on him.

Haywood D. Dixon Jr., 39, of Columbia, Lancaster County, was pronounced dead at 12:06 a.m. on July 7, 2023, at the York County Prison.

His cause of death was ruled due to bilateral pulmonary thromboembolism or a blood clot in the lungs, while being restrained and wearing a spit hood, according to the coroner…
