Napa County Sheriff’s Office (NSO) detectives noticed a pattern in four recent residential burglaries occurring in the Hagen Road area of Napa. The victims stated their jewelry had been stolen from their homes but with no evidence of a forced entry. Earlier this month a suspect attempted to enter a home on Hillcrest Drive but was unsuccessful. That suspect was later identified as David Alejandro Gomez Sanchez, a 44-year-old Napa resident.
Detectives began investigating Gomez and learned he had been selling stolen jewelry at different jewelry dealers in Napa and Contra Costa County. Detectives also learned Gomez fit the description of a residential burglary suspect in Pleasant Hill, CA. Detectives from both agencies worked together and identified Gomez as the suspect in the Pleasant Hill burglary case.
On Friday, 8/21/26, detectives from NSO and Pleasant Hill Police Department served a search warrant at Gomez’ residence in Napa. Detectives located highly valued stolen jewelry linked to Napa burglaries. NSO arrested Gomez on his way to his work site. Additional stolen jewelry was found in the vehicle he was driving.
