Las Vegas police increasing DUI patrols as part of statewide effort

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police and other Nevada law enforcement agencies are stepping up patrols focused on DUI violations, according to a Monday news release. Heightened enforcement is planned June 5-21 during nighttime hours.

With the America 250 celebration approaching, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department had a stern reminder for drivers.

“There is no excuse for choosing to drive under the influence. Don’t bet on your life; make plans now and stay safe later,” the news release said.

Metro will assign extra officers specifically to look for drivers under the influence.
