Las Vegas police: woman screamed for help before high-speed pursuit, crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is accused of forcing a woman into a car behind a Las Vegas hotel, resulting in a high-speed police pursuit and crash, according to documents obtained by 8 News Now.

Alejandro Mendoza is accused of coercing a woman with force or threat of force into a vehicle behind the Villa Inn Hotel-Motel on Las Vegas Boulevard on May 24. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to the property after receiving reports of a kidnapping, according to Metro police documents.

A witness told Metro police they called 911 around 8:00 p.m. after they saw Mendoza shoving a woman, identified as Vivien Lee, into a vehicle as she screamed for help during an apparent struggle, police said.

Police responded to the hotel and saw Mendoza drive away in an unregistered black BMW, running a stop sign and going the wrong way against the flow of traffic on E. Clark Avenue, documents said…
