Las Vegas police counter-terrorism unit grows by 30%

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A possible Las Vegas Golden Knights parade, FIFA World Cup watch parties, and Fourth of July preparations are bringing more crowds to Las Vegas, along with more safeguards. Las Vegas police say they will need your help to prevent the festivities from stalling.

During a press conference, LVMPD Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren made a three-part announcement ahead of several busy weekends. He said Las Vegas police will increase their posture during “mega weekends,” increase their counterintelligence unit by 30 percent, and ask if you see something suspicious to call police.
