Future of east Las Vegas little league in doubt after misappropriation of funds

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A little league that serves families in east Las Vegas may be in jeopardy after tens of thousands of dollars were reportedly misappropriated.

8 News Now obtained a letter the Central Little League sent to families on Friday, April 10, notifying them of “discrepancies found in the league’s bank account.” More than 200 children participate in the league.

The children played at Freedom Park, located near Washington Avenue and Pecos Road, but whether they will ever take the field again is a concern for families.

“It feels like a slap of the face not just to like me personally, but to the entire community,” Ana Bernal said. “This is not the richest community.”…
