Pre-Dawn Metro Shooting Shuts Down Spring Valley Intersection

What began as a quiet early morning in Spring Valley turned tense at the intersection of West Harmon Avenue and South Arville Street on Saturday, after Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers were involved in a shooting. Detectives quickly flooded the area, neighbors were left shaken and multiple lanes were shut down while the scene was locked down for hours. Metro said the area would remain an active crime scene into the morning as evidence technicians worked, and drivers were told to use alternate routes while the investigation continued.

Metro responded to the call at about 3:23 a.m., according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which reported that police urged the public to avoid the intersection because of the heavy law enforcement presence. The outlet also noted that authorities had not yet released any details on possible injuries or whether anyone had been taken into custody, as the probe remained active.
