The U.S. government is expected to announce the indictment of former Cuban leader Raúl Castro in connection with the 1996 Brothers to the Rescue shootdown that killed four men over the Florida Straits, sources told NBC News.
Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche, U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones, FBI Deputy Director Christopher G. Raia, U.S. Senator Ashley Moody and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier will be present for the announcement Wednesday at Miami’s Freedom Tower.
