Severe storms bring hail, high winds to Houston evening commute

May’s first Friday evening commute could get messy as another round of heavy rain and hail moves through Houston.

Forecasters say a final wave of showers and thunderstorms is expected to push west to east across the metro area between roughly 3 and 5 p.m.—right as many people hit the road.

“This could bring an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall for some locations,” Space City Weather’s Eric Berger wrote Friday afternoon. “And we cannot rule out some severe impacts such as damaging winds and possibly hail.”…
