Long Beach police said today that an officer shot at an aggressive dog to prevent it from biting him while he was walking near the Los Angeles River on Tuesday.
Neither the officer nor the dog was hurt during the incident, which happened at about 5:10 p.m. near where the 405 Freeway crosses the river.
Police said the officer was there for an unspecified investigation when he “encountered an aggressive dog that attempted to bite him.” In response, the officer shot toward the dog “to prevent the attack.”…
