2 arrested after narcotics search in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – Two Athens men were arrested after a narcotics investigation led to a search warrant being executed in the Owens community, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators with the Limestone County Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Limestone County SWAT Team, executed the warrant on Tuesday. Deputies said they recovered about 43 grams of cocaine, 242 Xanax tablets, 8 pounds of marijuana, multiple other prescription pills, and five firearms.

Authorities said Nathan Deonte Burks, 32, of Athens, was charged with two counts of drug trafficking and four counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance. Officials said no bond has been set…
