Decatur man charged with manslaughter, DUI for Moulton wreck that killed four

Garrett Cole Nix, of Decatur, was served with nine arrest warrants arising from a fatal traffic collision that killed four family members in April at the intersection of Alabama 157 and Alabama 24 in Moulton, the Moulton Police Department and Mayor Ryan Jolly announced Monday.

Nix, 35, was indicted by a grand jury for four counts of manslaughter, first-degree assault, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, running a red light, speeding and not wearing a seat belt.

The April 11 wreck killed 7-year-old Bryleigh Pledger, her twin sister Brynleigh Pledger, 13-year-old Bryant Ballew, and 33-year-old Ashley Hagood. The wreck also resulted in serious injuries to 10-year-old Bentley Pledger, who survived the crash. All of the victims were from Hartselle…
