The Downtown Rescue Mission is offering shelter for Huntsville’s homeless population to escape this week’s dangerous heat.
This mission will be open 24/7 to provide a cool place to anyone in need, including access to warm meals, clothing and showers.
“Summer can be especially dangerous for people experiencing homelessness in Alabama,” said Jonathan Walsh, Executive Vice President of Development. “With the heat index reaching 109°, conditions can become life-threatening for those living on the streets. We want everyone to know they are welcome to come in out of the heat, enjoy a meal, take a shower, and cool off in a safe environment.”…
