HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Animal rescuers say people are continuing to abandon pet ducks at local parks, a practice known as “duck dumping.”
At Brahan Spring Park, wild ducks are permanent residents. But sometimes, people leave their pet ducks there.
“Duck dumping is really a worldwide thing where people get cute little ducklings and they think ‘these will be wonderful, they will be so fun, they are so cute’ and then of course they grow very quickly and they are extremely messy,” said Catherine O’Kain, director of Waterfowl Enthusiasts of Big Spring, also known as WEBS…
