Owens Cross Roads police chief involved in deadly officer shooting

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. (WAFF) – The chief of Owens Cross Roads police was involved in an officer-involved shooting Friday, sources said.

The suspect, 61-year-old Rodney Wied, died after being shot multiple times, according to the Madison County coroner. He crashed his car into a pond while trying to get away.

Several sources said Owens Cross Roads Police Chief Jason Dobbins was involved in the shooting. Dobbins is okay and has been put on administrative leave, which is standard procedure…
