Docs: Indianapolis man charged after shooting man on south side following alleged overdose

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been charged after he reportedly shot a man on the south side of Indianapolis in October 2025 after his girlfriend overdosed.

According to court documents, 43-year-old Antonio Lee was charged in Marion County with:

  • One count of attempted murder, a Level 1 felony
  • One count of aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony
  • One count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Level 4 felony

On Oct. 2, 2025, southeast district officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 4900 block of S East Street on a report of a shooting.

The documents stated that when officers arrived on scene, they found a man lying in a parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital.

A video obtained by IMPD reportedly captured the shooting. The documents stated that the suspect, who police allege was Lee, walked to the parking lot from the south, fired a gun one time into the victim and left to the north…
