INDIANAPOLIS — Follow the yellow brick road to IndyHumane, where a shelter full of large dogs is waiting to click their heels and head home. From Oct. 1-8, IndyHumane will waive adoption fees for every dog over 40 pounds.
The adoption event, titled “There’s No Place Like Home,” comes as IndyHumane cares for more than 350 animals. The shelter currently has no open kennels for incoming large dogs. Every big dog adopted this week creates space for another animal in need of a safe place to stay.
“Our shelter is full, and we urgently need to find homes for the dogs in our care,” Donna Casamento, CEO of IndyHumane said in a release. “Every one of these dogs deserves a family and a place to call home. If you’ve been considering adoption, please come meet the dogs who are waiting for you. Your adoption could make room for another animal who needs us.”…
