Indiana Conservation Officers help locate missing pet alligator in Owen County

OWEN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana Department of Natural Resources officials said it was a busy week for conservation officers in Owen County, after they helped rescue a dog that fell off a cliff and found a missing pet alligator.

“Some days it’s permits and gators, other days it’s climbing cliffs for a family dog. We’re just glad we could help on both,” said officials with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Law Enforcement in a social media post.

The department said the missing pet alligator was found by Indiana Conservation Officer Caleb Hutchinson. Officials said the owner and “little one” were both cooperative during the rescue.
