PHOTOS: Truck strikes bridge in downtown Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — First responders responded to downtown Indianapolis on Monday afternoon after a truck struck a bridge.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 1:37 p.m. to the area of W. Louisiana Street and S. Meridian Street after dispatch reported receiving calls that a truck had crashed into a railroad bridge.

IMPD initially said there is no time frame for when Meridian Street could reopen, as the bridge needed to be inspected for any possible damage. Meridian Street reopened shortly after 5 p.m. to motorists in the area…
