LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. — As gas prices near $5 a gallon in parts of Michigan, residents are crossing state lines into Indiana to save money at the pump, where prices are significantly lower due to waived taxes.
In Kalamazoo and in Sturgis, gas prices have reached nearly $5 per gallon. However, just across the border in Indiana, drivers are finding relief with prices approximately 70 cents cheaper per gallon than in Kalamazoo.
