JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A 19-year-old has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and second-degree murder in connection with the 2021 abduction and killing of 33-year-old Teshundra Fortune in Jackson.
Dennis “DJ” Williams Jr., 19, was sentenced to 30 years to serve for kidnapping. He was also sentenced to 40 years for second-degree murder, with five years suspended and 35 years to serve, followed by five years of post-release supervision to be served in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, according to the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office.
“Nothing imposed in a courtroom can return Teshundra Fortune to those who loved her, but we hope today’s outcome provides her family with accountability, finality and some measure of peace,” said District Attorney Brad McCullouch.
