JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A Heat Advisory remains in effect across Central Mississippi today and tomorrow due to heat indices between 105 to 110. Actually high temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s under partly cloudy skies. While stray showers are possible today, most of the area will stay dry this afternoon. That will likely not be the case as we head into Labor Day weekend.
A tropical disturbance moving in from the east will bring a surge of deep moisture, bringing heavy rainfall and scattered storms. Due to slow-moving and repeating storm patterns, localized flash flooding is a concern. The greatest risk for these impacts will be on Friday afternoon…
