NJ bars allowed expanded hours during World Cup

HOBOKEN, N.J. – New Jersey’s Governor is signing off on a chance to keep World Cup celebrations going a little while longer.

Governor Mikie Sherrill on Monday signed a proclamation allowing towns and Counties the opportunity to adjust hours of sale ordinances for bars during the FIFA World Cup.

“An opportunity for fans to have a great time, enjoy themselves,” said Sen. Raj Mukherji.

With billions watching around the world, no doubt thousands will be watching locally, not from MetLife Stadium, but from a local bar. Matches can happen at any time, so the proclamation allows bars to expand their hours as they see fit…
