No contact advisory lifted for creek in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The no body contact advisory in Kalamazoo was lifted Wednesday after 10,000 gallons of wastewater overflowed into a tributary of the Kalamazoo River last week.

The no-contact advisory was announced July 6 after a blockage in the sewer pipes near Davis Creek and Miller Road caused an overflow of sewage that began flowing north to the Kalamazoo River. The blockage was cleared within two hours by city officials, but the advisory remained.
